Live text coverage of the Group B meeting between the West Indies and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy.

The West Indies and Pakistan met at The Oval on Friday with both sides looking to open their Champions Trophy campaign with a victory.

Pakistan struggled after being put into bat and Misbah-ul-Haq's 96* was crucial as the Asian side posted a disappointing 171 to hand the control to Dwayne Bravo's side.

However, the West Indies lost wickets at regular intervals to improve the chances of an unlikely Pakistan win.

Bravo's men managed to hold their nerve though, with Kemar Roach striking the winning runs to secure a two-wicket victory.

Read below to find out how the drama unfolded in the Group B clash.

Good morning. It's the second morning of the Champions Trophy and we've already seen some high-class cricket in the competition. India secured an impressive victory over South Africa on Thursday to take control of Group B. However, the West Indies and Pakistan will be hoping for early success too and they meet today in the capital.
There's plenty of excitement surrounding today's match. Both sides have so much talent and it's a difficult contest to call. Chris Gayle, Saeed Ajmal, Misbah-ul-Haq and Kieron Pollard to name only a few of the world class players involved at The Oval. Get ready for some entertainment.
BREAKING NEWS: West Indies win the toss and choose to bowl first.
WEST INDIES: Gayle, Charles, DM Bravo, Samuels, Sarwan, DJ Bravo, Pollard, Ramdin, Narine, Roach, Rampaul
PAKISTAN: Farhat, Jamshed, Hafeez, Shafiq, Misbah, Malik, Akmal, Ajmal, Wahab, Junaid, Irfan
Under the guidance of new captain Dwayne Bravo West Indies are expected to perform well in the competition and with players like Gayle, Samuels and Sarwan, there's no reason to think any different.
Pakistan are a difficult team to make predictions about. However, Misbah's side consistently find a way to make it to the semi-finals of tournaments and with Saeed Ajmal in their team, they can beat anyone.
As we saw in yesterday's match, a good start in the powerplay can be vital for the team batting first. West Indies will be desperate for early wickets but should be wary of Nasir Jamshed, who can be devastating at the top of the order.
A quick mention of Darren Sammy before the game begins. The all-rounder guided the West Indies to the World T20 Championship but cannot find a way into the current ODI side under Dwayne Bravo.
Gayle has taken his glasses of for the national anthem and given them to the mascot in front of him. The cool points are already being scored.
Due to the two Bravos in the West Indies side, we'll refer to skipper Dwayne as DJ BRavo and Darren as just Bravo. That's cleared up then, time for some cricket.
Jamshed opens the batting with Imran Farhat and Kemar Roach will bowl the first over of the match.
Roach finds a good line early on to test Farhat's technique just outside off-stump. The left-handed opener looks comfortable though and plays a couple of drives straight to fielders. A flick off the hip allows Farhat to get off the mark with two runs.
WICKET! FARHAT (2) C DJ BRAVO B ROACH
Massive early wicket for the Windies. Roach finds the perfect length and Farhat edges the ball towards the slips, where DJ Bravo takes a brilliant catch to his right. Great start for Roach.
Rampaul opens the bowling from the other end to bowl at Jamshed while new batsman Hafeez waits for his first ball. The bowler pushes too wide past the left-handed opener and is punished with a wide-ball. Jamshed seems happy to leave outside off-stump and can't play at all when Rampaul delivers another wide. No runs off the bat in the over.
Roach is short and wide at the beginning of the over but Hafeez can only cut the ball just short of the fielder at point to take a big risk early in his innings. Hafeez is desperate to find a single but some accurate bowling and quick fielding means it's a maiden.
Rampaul is struggling early on here and he's punished by Jamshed, who cuts a wider ball to the rope for four. Good response from the bowler when he brings one back just past the off-stump. Jamshed takes a single to fine-leg later in the over and he'll keep the strike.
Jamshed picks the gap wide of short mid-wicket to find a single at the beginning of Roach's new over. Hafeez drives through the air on the off-side but it's safe and he earns four to get off the mark.
WICKET! HAFEEZ (4) B ROACH
Brilliant from Roach! The bowler responds to the boundary by sneaking one through the gate and knocking back middle stump when Hafeez plays across the line slightly. Two wickets for Roach, Pakistan need a partnership now.
Asad Shafiq is the new batsman and his life is immediately made uncomfortable when he's struck on the glove by Roach. No more wickets in the over but signs that the West Indies may target Shafiq with the short ball.
Jamshed nearly worsens the situation for Pakistan when he swings wildly and misses a wider ball from Rampaul. The bowler is clearly trying to encourage a poor shot but he's too wide again and he's punished by the umpire for the third time. Just the extra from the over.
WICKET! SHAFIQ (0) C RAMPAUL B ROACH
Big celebrations at The Oval from the West Indians now. Roach gets his third wicket of the morning when Shafiq attempts to guide the ball over the slips and proceeds to pick out Rampaul at third man. Simple catch for the fielder and Shafiq departs without troubling the scorers.
Misbah is greeted by a bouncer from Roach and the skipper is wise to move away from the quick delivery. The bowler finds some extra bounce to hit the shoulder of the bat but Misbah does well to keep the ball from flying away to the slips. Wicket maiden from Roach and DJ Bravo surely won't be thinking of taking him off just yet.
Jamshed takes advantage of more width from Rampaul to pick up two runs through cover. The batsman reads an in-swinging delivery well to defend later in the over. Much better over from Rampaul, just two scored.
DJ Bravo has placed two fielders quite close to the bat on the leg-side for Misbah. Huge appeal in the middle of the over from Roach but the lbw call is turned down by the umpire. DJ Bravo chooses to review but the impact with the pad is too close to call and the original decision stays with the umpire.
Oh no, Ramdin makes an awful mistake. Roach catches the inside edge and it appears that the wicketkeeper takes the ball easily behind the stump. However, a replay shows that the ball was fumbled when Ramdin landed and the Pakistan captain is let off. Amazing scenes, the West Indies will be hoping that doesn't come back to haunt them. Good umpiring.
The chances keep coming for the fielding side. Jamshed drives at a wider one and is fortunate to see an edge fly past a diving DJ Bravo at second slip. A clip into the leg-side brings two runs for the same batsman. Six from the final over of the powerplay.
Roach's superb spell of bowling continues and an inside edge saves Jamshed from a close lbw call after Misbah got off strike thanks to a leg-bye. A wider ball is hit hard by Jamshed but Samuels fields well at cover. Just a single from Roach's over.
Roach has now bowled six overs and has figures of 3-7. Brilliant start from the seamer.
DJ Bravo brings himself into the attack for the first time in the match. The skipper is clipped for a single into the leg-side by Misbah. Bravo comes round the wicket to Jamshed and finds some nice movement into the left-handed batsman. Jamshed responds by chipping the ball wide of mid-on and the quick outfield ensures that he earns four for the shot. The opener will keep the strike thanks to a single to deep cover.
First look at spin in the match but it's not Narine just yet as Samuels begins his first spell. Jamshed flicks one off his hip before Misbah takes advantage of a shorter ball to cut two to deep cover. One more single for the skipper and he'll keep the strike.
Narine isn't made to wait for long when he's given the ball to bowl from the opposite end to Samuels. Misbah drops to his knee to paddle-sweep and he's lucky to miss Pollard, who has the helmet on at short-leg. Jamshed tucks the ball into a vacant area on the leg-side for one and Misbah adds another to third man. Steady start for Narine.
DJ Bravo's rest doesn't last long, returning for a new spell following that one over. The skipper swings one back towards Misbah but there's not much going for the lbw appeal. Misbah flicks the ball behind square on the leg-side and the Pakistani duo run well to collect two. One more single from the over and it's time for a drinks break.
The current partnership is very important for Pakistan. If this duo can stay together for a sustained period of time, and play Narine well, Pakistan can still reach a challenging total.
Misbah nudges the ball to long-on for a single and Jamshed then survives an lbw appeal when Narine spins the ball back into his pads. Good decision from the umpire. Narine's accuracy is superb but the Pakistan duo do well to pick the variations and pick up two in the over.
Jamshed defends early in the over before steering DJ Bravo in front of point for a single. Misbah blocks a good delivery but the awareness of Jamshed allows the batsmen to sneak through for a quick run. A thick edge to third man brings one more, three from the over. The West Indies have bowled very well here and are keeping the pressure on.
Brilliant from Jamshed, who lofts the ball over the two fielders at cover to hit four at the start of Narine's over. The spinner responds with a beauty to beat the outside edge just a ball later. Three runs are taken from the final two balls and Pakistan finally reach 50.
Great start to the over from DJ Bravo as he beats the outside edge of Jamshed, who is eager to drive against the seamer. Three dot balls are followed by a push to deep cover, where Darren Bravo ensures only a single can be taken. Misbah nudges the ball straight down the ground for one. Jamshed goes after a wider one and edges the ball towards Gayle at slip but neither he or Ramdin can take a difficult low catch. Three from the over.
Change of bowling as Pollard comes on to replace Narine. The medium pace bowler is too full early on and Jamshed is able to clip the ball away for a single. Misbah flicks the ball away from his pads and fine-leg is too wide to prevent four from being scored. The same batsman is forced to stretch to guide the ball to third man for a single before Jamshed plays and misses once again outside off-stump.
Misbah and Jamshed trade singles early in a new over from DJ Bravo. A fuller deliver is clipped off the toes by Misbah for another but Jamshed's attempts to drive powerfully through the covers are stopped on two occasions by Samuels in the field.
Pollard is bowling from wide on the crease now but Misbah is happy to stretch and cut the ball to deep point for a single to bring up the fifty partnership between him and Jamshed. A nudge into the deep on the leg-side gives Jamshed another run but it's still only two from the over.
DJ Bravo clearly feels that this is the key partnership and he responds by bringing Roach back into the attack. Jamshed gets out of the firing line with a single to mid-wicket. Roach strikes Misbah on the arm with a good shorter ball but Pakistan still manage to hurry a run. Decent return for Roach.
Huge shot from Misbah to relieve some pressure when he stands tall to drive a length ball over long-off for a big six. Pollard responds with a good fuller ball but his two slower deliveries are taken for a couple of singles later in the over. Misbah adds another to keep the strike. Much better over from Pakistan, with nine runs being scored.
Misbah takes an early single in Roach's over. Jamshed continues to take chances outside off-stump and he earns four more with a thick edge to third man. Two more singles are added, seven from the over.
Pakistan are picking the gaps well now and current duo take five singles from the first five balls of Pollard's over. Just the one dot ball from the all-rounder. The West Indies need a wickets as these two are becoming very comfortable at the crease.
Samuels is back for a new spell and he's immediately cut away for a single by Misbah. Jamshed finds it difficult to create space for himself until he plays a late cut shot for two runs. Two more runs taken, steady over.
Narine is brought back on for a new spell but Pakistan deal with the spinner well, taking two singles before Misbah reverse sweeps the ball to the third man rope for four.
Pakistan continue their steady progress and take four singles from the first four balls of the over of Samuels. Jamshed reaches FIFTY with a cut to deep point for one from the final ball. It's come from 91 balls but that's been a very important innings for his side.
WICKET! JAMSHED (50) C RAMPAUL B NARINE
Jamshed gives his wicket away just two balls after reaching fifty. The opener eyes a big six off Narine but he doesn't make great contact and Rampaul takes the routine catch at long-off. Crucial breakthrough for the Windies.
Shoaib Malik is the new batsman and he's brought on strike when Misbah takes a single to point.
WICKET! MALIK (0) C DJ BRAVO B NARINE
Good bowling and great captaincy from DJ Bravo sees the fifth wicket come for the West Indies. The skipper comes in at short mid-wicket and Malik is distraught when he flicks Narine straight into DJ Bravo's hands. Disaster for Pakistan.
Kamran Akmal is immediately beaten on the outside edge and Ramdin wants the umpires to take a look at a replay when he whips the bails off. His request is accepted but a second look shows Akmal kept his foot in the crease to survive his first ball.
Misbah needs a partner to stick around now as he continues with his business by nudging a single to square-leg. Akmal misses with a sweep but he finds his first run with a cut to deep point. Time for another drinks break.
The Pakistani trade singles early in Narine's new over following the short interval.
WICKET! AKMAL (2) C RAMDIN B NARINE
Narine takes his third wicket of the match when Akmal's attempted cut shot only brings a light edge that Ramdin is able to take. The spinner has done the trick for the Windies and Pakistan need a big display just to complete their overs now.
Wahab Riaz is agonisingly close to edging his first ball to Ramdin but he survives. The new batsman must support Misbah from here.
DJ Bravo is sticking with his attacking instincts as he brings Roach back for his ninth over. The pace bowler can't stop Misbah from reaching FIFTY though, thanks to a well placed cut for four behind point. A single gives the strike to Riaz, who copes well with a shorter ball to pick up two at fine-leg.
Samuels finds a very good line to Misbah but he can't prevent the Pakistani skipper from finding a single to square-leg. Riaz is happy to defend against the off-spinner for the remainder of the over. Just one run added to the total.
Good cricket from Misbah, who picks the gap in front of point to collect two at the start of Roach's over. A short ball is diverted to square-leg and another run is taken. Riaz does well to push the ball into the off-side to collect two. Five from the over and that's the end of Roach in the bowling department. Brilliant display from the seamer.
Rampaul comes back into the attack to bowl the first over of the batting powerplay. Misbah gets off strike with a nudge into the deep on the leg-side. Riaz finds another single into the same area when Rampaul is too straight. Two more runs are shared between the batsmen in the middle of the over and Misbah will keep the strike thanks to a single from the final ball.
WICKET! RIAZ (6) RUN OUT (DJ BRAVO)
When things aren't going your way, you really do get awful luck. Misbah drives straight but DJ Bravo deflects the ball onto the stumps and Riaz is left stranded while trying to back-up. Unfortunate dismissal and it just gets better for the West Indies.
DJ Bravo uses his slower ball very well in the over to force Misbah to regularly readjust at the crease. Misbah collects three in the over and will keep the strike.
Strange decision from Misbah, who takes a single from Rampaul's first ball to expose Ajmal. Rampaul fires in a short ball but it's too high and the umpires signal a wide-ball. Ajmal pushes the ball into the off-side and sneaks a single. Roach does superbly at fine-leg to dive and stop a certain boundary, restricting Misbah to a single.
WICKET! AJMAL (2) RUN OUT (POLLARD)
Awful from Ajmal as he runs halfway down the pitch when Misbah heaves across the line. Pollard takes the ball cleanly at mid-wicket and throws the ball to Rampaul, who has the simple task of taking the bails off.
Junaid Khan is on strike at the beginning of a new over from Narine. The tail-end batsman looks confident in defence as he plays out a maiden against the spinner.
Misbah backs away to give himself room but he misses when Rampaul fires in a bouncer. A second short ball is pulled to mid-on but there's no run on offer. Misbah eventually finds a single when a deflection off the shoulder of the bat travels behind square on the off-side.
Misbah lofts the ball into the air but it drops well short of long-on.
WICKET! KHAN (0) C GAYLE B DJ BRAVO
Moment of magic from Gayle sends Khan back to the dressing room. The tail-end batsman attempts an expansive drive and when he edges it, the ball looks certain to fly to third-man before Gayle leaps and takes a stunning catch.
Mohammad Irfan, standing at close to 7ft tall, is the new batsman and he does well to survive the remainder of the over.
Narine comes on once again for another spell and he continues to show great control with both his line and length. Misbah defends before taking a single from the final ball. Eight overs left in the innings, can Pakistan last that long?
Misbah strikes the ball powerfully to long-on but refuses to take a single so early in the over. DJ Bravo, from round the wicket, loses his line and Misbah easily clips the ball fine for a rare boundary. Misbah sneaks a single to mid-off to leave Irfan with two balls to face. The giant tail-end batsman is deceived by a slower ball but manages to survive the over.
It's time for some big runs as Misbah drops to his knee to slog-sweep Narine for four. However, the Pakistan captain can't find a single later in the over and Irfan will be on strike at the start of the next over.
Very good from Irfan, who opens the face to guide a single to third man and gets off strike. Misbah picks up two with a late cut past Sarwan at point. Superb from the Pakistani skipper who then launches a fuller ball straight down the ground for a big six. Rampaul tries to follow Misbah when he backs away but pushes too hard and a wide is given. Misbah then finds a single and he'll keep the strike.
Five overs left in the innings. Misbah is doing his best to help Pakistan to a useful total but surely they won't have enough, will they?
Misbah dances down the pitch again and strikes Narine over long-on for another maximum to move into the nineties. The captain finds a big gap on the leg-side to collect two more. Irfan will be on strike for the next over though.
Irfan does his job very well again to find a single at the beginning of DJ Bravo's new over. Misbah flicks the ball off his toes for a single to move to 95 just one delivery later. The bowler strikes Irfan's glove with a good bouncer before catching the edge with a slower ball that drops short of Ramdin.
Misbah struggles to find the boundary he's looking for in Rampaul's new over, with Darren Bravo doing well to stop a cut at cover point. A single is taken from the fourth ball by the skipper.
WICKET! IRFAN (2) C DJ BRAVO B RAMPAUL
A short ball forces Irfan to spoon the ball into the air and DJ Bravo is left to take a simple catch on the leg-side. Superb display from the West Indies and they're strong favourites to win this Group B match from here.
Nice touch from DJ Bravo, who acknowledges the brilliance of Misbah with a friendly pat on the back. Pakistan's captain left stranded on 96 not out and he really did deserve that century. Just two players reached double figures and that's not good enough.
We'll take a quick break for around 25 minutes but make sure you come back when West Indies will be chasing 171 for victory.
Welcome back everyone. I'm afraid I return with a little bit of bad news. The ground staff at The Oval have brought on the covers after some light rain started to fall in the area. It's unclear how long it will last but hopefully the delay doesn't last too long.
Pakistan have got strength in their bowling department but 171 isn't a very large total at The Oval. Chris Gayle will of course be the key wicket at the top of the order because if he gets going, this total could be chased quickly.
Ajmal is the key man, plain and simple. He's probably the best spinner in the world and if the West Indies can deal with him, 171 will look a much smaller total.
Good news! The covers are now being taken off and the restart is 10 minutes away.
If you missed any of the news from earlier in they day, head to the cricket homepage on Sports Mole. Morne Morkel is out of the tournament with injury and Michael Clarke will miss Australia's opener against England tomorrow.
Misbah's heroics have given Pakistan a chance at The Oval but they'll need to do something really special. Early wickets are crucial.
Gayle will open the batting with Johnson Charles. Irfan is given the job of bowling the first over.
Gayle is off the mark with a flick to fine-leg for a single from the first ball. Charles is struck in the stomach while trying to whip Irfan through the leg-side. The right-handed opener swings wildly at a wider one but there's no contact with the ball. Good start from Irfan, who uses his height to find decent bounce in the over.
Junaid Khan takes the other new ball and is immediately pushed to cover for a single by Gayle. Khan's hopeful appeal for lbw is quickly rejected, with the ball clearly hitting Charles too high on the pad. Charles gets off the mark in style when he crunches the ball over the bowler for four runs. An open faced shot brings a single and Charles will keep the strike.
Charles will punish any bad delivery and he does that at the start of Irfan's over when he lofts a wider ball over cover for four.
WICKET! CHARLES (9) C RIAZ B IRFAN
Charles cannot resist taking on Irfan's short ball but the opener's short stay comes to an end when he skies his pull to fine-leg, where Riaz takes the catch. Important wicket for Pakistan, Darren Bravo in next.
Bravo is greeted by a couple of shorter balls and he's lucky to not be caught by a fielder close in on the leg-side. Good over from Irfan, who looks threatening.
Brilliant line from Khan, who is agonisingly close to finding Gayle's edge. Big appeal from Pakistan when Gayle is struck on the pad but Misbah isn't convinced and he chooses not to review the not out decision. Good choice as replays prove there was an inside edge. Gayle then does what he's known for and reaches the rope with a cracking pull shot.
WICKET! DM BRAVO (0) C AKMAL B IRFAN
Superb fast bowling from Irfan! Bravo is shocked by the bounce and the ball takes the edge on its way into the hands of Akmal. Irfan at his best there and it looks like we've got a real game on our hands now.
Samuels is under real pressure when he arrives at the crease but he's off the mark when a thick inside edge races away for a single. Gayle flirts with a fuller ball to bring a stare from Irfan but I don't think the coolest man in cricket is too interested. He'll keep the strike following a clip to fine-leg.
Gayle drills his shot into the off-side but Shafiq does brilliantly at cover to stop the opener taking any runs. The batsman is once again struck on the pad but Khan is darting it down the leg-side so there's no lbw appeal. Two-leg byes then come behind square on the leg-side before Gayle cruises a single to mid-on.
Irfan beats the outside edge with a fantastic delivery and some optimistic appeals for a caught behind are quickly rejected. Gayle continues to live dangerously and is beaten by pace when he fishes outside off-stump. Irfan then delivers a straighter short ball to force Gayle into a good defensive shot. Gayle only wants to play one way and after four dot balls in a row the batsman lofts the ball over long-off for a big six. Four more leg-byes for the total to fine-leg and a very good over has somehow gone for 10 runs.
Khan delivers five very good dot balls but a potential maiden is ruined when Samuels rocks back and smashes the ball through the covers for four.
Gayle uses his crease to sit back and club Irfan's first ball straight down the ground for four. The bowler is put under even more pressure when Gayle pulls through mid-wicket for a boundary before taking a single to square-leg. Samuels is surprised by the bounce but a thick edge evades the slips and races away for a single to third man.
Khan continues to be deadly accurate but Samuels is a class act and defends well before standing tall to punch the ball past the bowler for four runs. Samuels easily evades a shorter ball and the bowler is punished for his height, with a wide being given.
Here's the real test for the Windies. Ajmal comes on for the first time in the innings and is immediately nudged into the leg-side for a single by Gayle. Samuels is frustrated when Gayle rejects his call for a quick run. Good control shown by the spinner, just one from the over.
Another change for Pakistan, with Riaz coming on for a bowl. Gayle cuts the first ball through the off-side for a single. Samuels uses his feet well to find a single on the off-side. Riaz delivers a sharp bouncer to Gayle, who fights the urge to play a risky hook shot. Single taken from the final ball and Gayle will keep the strike.
Gayle clips the ball off his pad and Irfan's slower pace means the batsmen can run three times. Samuels advances down the pitch to push a single to long-on. Two more shared between the two men in the middle, six from Ajmal's over.
Samuels gets off strike early in a the over with a nudge down the ground. Riaz bowls a brilliant bouncer but he oversteps the mark and Gayle has a free-hit to have some fun with. Good response from the bowler, who goes very full to avoid being stuck for any runs. Gayle then hands the strike to Samuels and the number four picks up two more with a punch through cover.
Ajmal finds a great length to Gayle but a maiden is ruined when the batsman powers the ball to the fielder at long-off for one. The West Indies are cruising at the moment.
Gayle hands the strike to Samuels, who shows his class with a perfectly timed cut shot through point for four. That's the fifty partnership between these two. Gayle breathes a sigh of relief later in the over when Pakistan appeal for lbw. However, the umpire's decision of not out proves to be correct as Hawkeye shows the ball would have missed leg-stump. Seven runs in the over, time for a drinks break.
Gayle is back to business following the break and earns four with a thick edge at the start of Ajmal's over. Samuels reacts well to his partner's sweep-shot to rush through a quick single. A flick off the pad and a poor throw allows the duo hurry another run.
WICKET! GAYLE (39) B AJMAL
Big wicket! Gayle can't resist playing the big shot against Ajmal but when he misses and the ball strikes middle stump, it's the Pakistani supporters who are left celebrating. Is it game on again?
Samuels tucks Riaz into the leg-side for a single to bring Sarwan on strike for the first time. The new batsman gets off the mark with a nudge off the hip to square-leg.
WICKET! SARWAN (1) C AKMAL B RIAZ
Brilliant from Riaz, who gets the ball to bounce sharply and clip the shoulder of the bat. Akmal does the rest and Sarwan has to depart.
Ajmal does superbly to keep the pressure on the Windies with a maiden to Samuels. Pollard, the new batsman, will start the next over on strike.
We've been treated to some fantastic fast bowling at The Oval today. Riaz almost shocks Pollard with a bouncer but the batsman does well to avoid the danger. Pollard cannot resist driving at a wider ball but he's unable to get hold of the ball. Superb over, two maidens in a row.
Samuels pushes Ajmal through cover for one to hand the strike to Pollard. The big hitter lives dangerously when he edges the ball just short of Hafeez on two occasions. Ajmal is all over Pollard in the over but the batsman survives.
Samuels guides the ball behind point for a single before Pollard ducks a bouncer, which is given as a wide. Pollard is yet to score off the 16 balls he's faced.
Ajmal's first ball of the over is pushed down the ground for a single. Pollard takes a huge risk when Samuels seems to resist a run, however, some slow fielding allows the pair to hurry through. Ajmal is too short but Samuels can only hit the fielder at short-leg before cruising a single.
Samuels advances down the pitch to nudge a single to long-on at the start of a new spell from Hafeez. Pollard continues to struggle to get the ball away and blocks the remaining five deliveries.
Ajmal is once again taken for a single by Samuels early in the over. Pollard finally shows some of his trademark shot-making ability with a chip down the ground for four runs. Five in the over.
SAMUELS (30) ST AKMAL B HAFEEZ
Samuels has battled to 30 but his patience finally leaves him when he advances down the pitch and is stumped by Akmal. DJ Bravo in next for the West Indies, can he guide his side to victory?
Bravo chips his first ball just short of mid-wicket before seeing a call for a quick single rejected by Pollard. The skipper is off the mark with a rushed single to cover. Pollard adds another down the ground and he'll keep the strike.
We've got a thriller on our hands here. There's plenty of Pakistan fans in the ground and they're getting louder every time a wicket falls.
Clever move from Misbah, who brings back the impressive Irfan for a new spell. The giant seamer starts with a wide before improving his accuracy. Pollard takes on the pace with an ugly slice over third man for a single. Bravo finds a quick run on the leg-side and he'll keep the strike.
Bravo flicks Hafeez through mid-wicket to bring up the three figures for the Windies. Pollard guides a straighter ball to fine-leg for another single. Bravo nudges one more to make it three from Hafeez's over.
Irfan's bounce continues to cause problems but Bravo does well to get high and push a single through the off-side. Pollard whips the ball away for another through square-leg. Irfan hits the shoulder of Bravo's bat but the ball lands well short of any fielder. Tough times for the West Indies.
Hafeez continues his spell and is immediately knocked into the leg-side for a single by Pollard, who may be thinking about accelerating soon. Bravo quickly hands the strike back to his partner, who agrees with me and launches the spinner into the stands for a six. Pollard has some luck though when he edges the ball into the pad of Akmal.
Irfan continues to persist with the shorter length but Bravo does well to work a single into the leg-side while off both feet. Just the one from the over and it's time for drinks.
West Indies need 59 more runs for victory. Misbah turns to Riaz, who must make a breakthrough if Pakistan are to force a nervy finish.
Riaz is too short early on and the delivery is given as a wide. Bravo plays a wild swing outside off-stump but he's beaten by the pace of Riaz, who send his rival a stare. The skipper nudges the ball into the leg-side for a single. A thick edge races past second slip and Pollard earns two in the process. The same batsman drives powerfully and a fumble at mid-off brings two more.
Bravo opens the face of the bat to guide the ball behind point for two runs midway through a new over from the returning Khan. The skipper then nudges the ball into the deep on the leg-side for another. Pollard resists pulling when Khan delivers a slower bouncer.
Bravo is more than happy to deal in singles as he adds another run to the total with a push to deep point. Pollard takes a risk with a nudge to cover but Misbah misses with his attempted throw at the stumps to avoid any heart-in-mouth moment. Bravo picks the gap on the leg-side to collect two more. The Windies skipper will keep the strike following a push through cover.
Khan keeps his length slightly short but Bravo looks comfortable as he finds one on the leg-side. Pollard's patience is admirable as he holds firm while Khan tests him with the bouncer. A leg-side short ball looks inviting and Pollard takes it on, with the glove deflecting it to the fine-leg rope. He'll keep the strike thanks to a single. Time for the batting powerplay.
Pollard takes advantage of the fielding restrictions to skip down the track and steer Riaz through the covers for four runs.
WICKET! POLLARD (30) C AKMAL B RIAZ
Pollard finally goes after a wider one from Riaz and he can't help but send an edge to Akmal. Is the thrilling end back on?
Ramdin comes in to huge noise from the Pakistan supporters but he ignores them and blocks out the over. West Indies need 34 more runs.
Ajmal is back for a crucially important new spell and is immediately flicked away for a single by Bravo. Ramdin is uncomfortable against the spin but picks up three when an outside edge races past Hafeez at slip. Bravo rocks back deep in his crease to cut the ball behind point for a couple more.
WICKET! BRAVO (19) LBW B AJMAL
What a moment in this match! The finger is raised when Ajmal hits Bravo's pads. West Indies supporters hold their breath when Bravo reviews the decision but Hawkeye shows the ball would have clipped leg-stump. Can Pakistan pull off something special?
Narine shows his teammates how it's done when he smacks Ajmal through the off-side for four runs. Tense times in the capital.
Ramdin pushes the ball through cover for a single and there's a risky moment for Narine when he prods a shorter ball just past the fielder close in on the leg-side. The number nine shows his attacking intentions again with a cut through the off-side for four more. Riaz fires in another short ball and Narine is lucky an aerial defensive shot sails past gully. Two more singles and it's seven from the over.
Ajmal's sharp turn does him no favours when the West Indies hurry a couple of leg-byes. Ramdin cuts the ball between two slips for a fortunate boundary and his side are closing in on victory now. Two more leg-byes come behind square on the leg-side. Nine more to win.
Narine takes on the shorter ball from Irfan and picks up two more with an unorthodox shot on the leg-side. Mistake from Misbah due to there being too many fielders outside the circle and it's a no-ball.
WICKET! NARINE (11) C AKMAL B IRFAN
It's not over yet! Irfan takes the outside edge of Narine and Akmal has the simple take of taking his fourth catch of the day.
New batsman Roach does very well to keep out a yorker from Irfan, who has been very impressive today. Roach survives. West Indies need six to win. Pakistan need two wickets.
Ramdin guides the ball in the air through third man for a single at the start of a new over from Khan. Roach finds another with a push past point before Ramdin hurries one to square-leg.
WEST INDIES WIN BY TWO WICKETS: Roach lofts the ball over the fielders on the off-side to reach the rope and guide the Windies to their target. Brilliant drama at The Oval.
Pakistan deserve plenty of credit for the way they have battled after posting such a poor total. Misbah's bowlers have been superb but the Windies have done just enough to claim the win.
Pakistan may struggle to recover from that defeat but the West Indies will understand that they must improve if they are to win this tournament.
So, the bowlers have dominated the day and we've been treated to a thrilling match on the second day of the Champions Trophy. Thanks for joining me today but make sure you come back tomorrow morning for England vs. Australia.
