Nottinghamshire have secured the services of Zimbabwe international Brendan Taylor.
The County Championship side have taken the decision to bolster their batting options following the news that both Michael Lumb and Jake Libby are likely to miss the start of the new season through injury.
"Ahead of the upcoming season, we have found ourselves with two batsmen injured and face the potential loss of players to international commitments," director of cricket Mick Newell told the club's official website.
"We have decided to strengthen our batting order with Brendan, a proven player who will be an excellent addition to the side."
Twenty-nine-year-old Taylor, who can also keep wicket, is currently playing for Zimbabwe at the ongoing one-day international World Cup.
