Team Australia rider Annette Edmondson has insisted that she has "nothing to lose" in the final of the women's 3000m individual pursuit at the Commonwealth Games today.
Edmondson qualified for the gold medal race with a time of 3:30.728 at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, beating compatriot Amy Cure and Scotland's Katie Archibald to the final.
She will face world champion Joanna Rowsell later this afternoon for the top prize, and the 22-year-old has said that she will give it everything she's got in order to cause an upset.
"[I'm] hoping to win. I've got nothing to lose against the world champ so I'm just going to go out there all guns blazing and fingers crossed I can come out on top," Edmondson told Sports Mole.
Rowsell set a new Commonwealth Games record of 3:29.038 while qualifying.
