Team England's Sir Bradley Wiggins reveals that he "really enjoyed" his return to track racing, having switched his attention to road events in 2008.

Team England rider Sir Bradley Wiggins has said that he "really enjoyed" his return to the track for the 4,000m team pursuit at the Commonwealth Games today.

The 34-year-old switched his focus from track to road racing following the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, going on to reach the pinnacle of the latter format by winning the Tour de France and Olympic gold in 2012.

However, he is now looking to take part in the velodrome at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, where he will attempt to go one better than the silver medal he won in Glasgow this afternoon.

"It's like being a kid again really. I've really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the intensity of it. It's over in four minutes and like I say I've really enjoyed it," Wiggins told reporters.

A Commonwealth gold remains one of the few major honours to have eluded Wiggins in his glittering career, and he told Sports Mole earlier today that he would not be taking part in the 2018 Games on the Gold Coast.
