Team England's pairing of Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott have qualified fastest from the quarter-finals of the women's tandem sprint at the Commonwealth Games.
Thornhill and Scott clocked a time of 11.277 seconds, which ended up being 0.142 seconds faster than Scottish duo Aileen McGlynn and Louise Haston in Glasgow.
The two Australian teams finished third and fourth respectively in preparation for the semi-finals later this afternoon.
Scott is a new partner for 18-year-old Thornhill, who is a two-time world champion.
