Giro d'Italia leader Alberto Contador has continued competing in the race, despite dislocating his shoulder on Thursday.
The 32-year-old underwent tests on the injury last night after crashing towards the end of the sixth stage in Castiglione della Pescaia.
The Spaniard was able to eventually finish the race, but he was visibly in pain while trying to put on the pink jersey on the podium.
However, Contador was on the start line for the seventh stage after the rider tweeted: "They have protected my shoulder and hope it will not go out again. Will be a hard day with 264km."
Contador also suffered damage to his knee.
