Six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy returns to training in Western Australia after recovering from a severe stomach virus.

Six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy has returned to training after being hospitalised for 24 hours with a severe stomach virus.

The 36-year-old arrived in Western Australia last week but is understood to have suffered gastrointestinal problems as the result of a virus.

However, he has since resumed training in Perth, where he is considering whether to take part in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Hoy, the most successful Olympic cyclist of all time, is an 11-time world champion.
