Dutch cyclist Wilco Kelderman has undergone surgery after breaking his right collarbone while training over the weekend.
The 23-year-old, who recently renewed his contract with Belkin, finished seventh overall in the Giro d'Italia, fourth in the Criterium du Dauphine and 14th in the Vuelta a Espana stage races this year.
"[Kelderman] broke his right collarbone," a Belkin spokesman said. "The medical staff operated him yesterday, expected recovery is three weeks. Get well soon!"
Australian Simon Gerrans is also on the road to recovery following an identical injury, with both men fighting to be fit in time for the 2015 season.
