Veteran cyclist Jeannie Longo is to face an investigation after missing three doping tests.
The 13-times world champion, 52, could be banned for "between three months and two years" by France's National Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD), according to L'Equipe, for failing to inform the organisation of her whereabouts prior to random tests.
Longo allegedly "gave insufficient information" about her location on the first two occasions, and on the third, was apparently not found at the hotel she claimed to be staying at.
A lawyer representing Longo told the AFP today: "Longo has been tested more than any other athlete in the world with results which leave no doubt that she is exemplary."
The potential ban casts doubt on Longo's expected final appearance at the Olympics next year.
