The oldest post-war Tour de France stage winner, Pino Cerami, has died at the age of 92.

The oldest post-war stage winner of the Tour de France, Pino Cerami, has died, aged 92.

At 41 years and three months, Italian-born Cerami won the ninth stage of the 1963 Tour, although he failed to finish the race itself.

Cerami, who died after a long illness, attained Belgian nationality in 1956 and had a race named after him.

The Grand Prix Pino Cerami has been a regular feature of the Belgian cycling calendar since 1964.
