Laura Trott sprinted to victory in yesterday's first ever RideLondon Grand Prix, beating off stiff competition from Dani King and Hannah Barnes.
Trott, 21, finished less than a bike length ahead of Barnes, who beat the Olympic gold medallist in last month's IG London Nocturne race.
"I could tell Hannah was on my wheel but I had such a good lead out I knew I was going to win," Trott told the event organisers, Prudential. "It was sweet revenge.
"I had the best lead-out ever. Dani just floored it from the last corner so I only had to sprint about 50m. It was so good.
"This feels like my event, I felt I had to win. I'm so glad I did."
The event, which saw the riders complete 15 laps of a 1.3 mile circuit, was the first of its kind in the capital.
