Sir Bradley Wiggins will carry out his hour record attempt in London next week in a bid to beat Alex Dowsett's distance.
The 2012 Tour de France champion will try to put his name in the history books by recording the furthest distance that a rider can cycle within 60 minutes.
Sky Sports will broadcast Wiggins's attempt to beat Dowsett's record of 52.937km via various channels, including Sky Sports 2, as well as Sky apps and via the broadcaster's website.
"Seeing Chris Boardman take on the hour record as a kid inspired me to get on my bike and I want to do the same for the next generation," said Wiggins. "I know Sky will help make it a huge event because of their longstanding commitment to cycling."
The attempt will take place at the Lee Valley VeloPark on Sunday, June 7.
