Former British cyclist Chris Boardman believes that Sir Chris Hoy, Philip Hindes and Jason Kenny should feel "proud" for clinching the gold medal in the men's team sprint.

Olympic gold medallist Chris Boardman believes that British cyclist Philip Hindes deserves credit for helping the men's team sprint clinch gold at London 2012.

The British group - made up of Sir Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Hines - rode to a gold medal after defeating France with a time of 42.6s.

"What an exciting final and for me it was all about young Philip Hindes," BBC Sport quotes Boardman as saying.

"He had to do the ride of his life there, and all three of them are on the form of their life. All the team can be rightly proud of themselves, a fantastic job all round."

Meanwhile, the women's British team were eliminated from the team sprint after committing an illegal change-over.
