Great Britain's Paralympic silver medallist Aileen McGlynn says that she is happy with coming second, despite failing to defend her title.

Great Britain's Paralympic cyclist Ailenn McGlynn has insisted that she is happy with claiming a silver medal in the women's individual time trial, despite just missing out on gold.

The British double defending champion was placed in the top spot before Australia's Felicity Johnson set a Paralympic record, which pushed McGlynn and her co-pilot Helen Scott into the silver medal position.

"We're really pleased to have got a silver, and to get a PB (personal best) as a team is really good," McGlynn told Channel 4.

Scott added: "Hopefully we will keep getting better. We've had the best year ever this last year. We'll just keep working on it and working on it and hopefully one day we'll get that gold medal."

Britain's Lora Turnham just missed out on a medal after recording the fourth-fastest time at the velodrome.
