Mark Cavendish says that he is determined to secure his fifth last-stage win when he takes part in the Tour de France next year with Omega Pharma Quick-Step.

Mark Cavendish is hopeful that he can snatch his fifth last-stage victory in the Tour de France when he lines up with Omega Pharma Quick-Step next year.

The 27-year-old, who announced that he was leaving Team Sky last month, believes that the 2013 edition of the prestigious race will be a "beautiful route".

"The 100th edition of the Tour de France has to incorporate everything which means lots of mountains but it's a beautiful route," Cavendish told BBC Radio Five Live.

"There is a sprint on the first stage which gives me a chance of winning the yellow jersey. The final sprint on the Champs Elysees will be under lights.

"I've won [the last stage] in Paris the last four years and I want to make that five. My team Omega Pharma Quick-Step are going all out [to win the green sprinters jersey] in 2013."

Meanwhile, Bradley Wiggins, who became the first Brit to win the yellow jersey this year, is expected to take a step back and let Chris Froome lead Team Sky next year.
