Ruben Plazza has won the 16th stage of the Tour de France after edging out green jersey leader Peter Sagan.
The Spaniard came out on top following a gripping final chase, which ended with Sagan finishing second for the fifth time this year.
Britain's Chris Froome, who allegedly had urine thrown at him over the weekend, led by three minutes at one stage but remained in the peloton.
Fellow Briton Geraint Thomas collided with Warren Barguil on the final descent, yet despite hitting his head on a telegraph pole the Team Sky rider was able to cross the line relatively unscathed.
The Tour continues in Digne-les-bains on Wednesday, following tomorrow's rest day.
