Dave Chisnall upset the odds by sending 15-time champion Phil Taylor home in the second round at the PDC World Championship this evening.
St Helens-based Chisnall outshone his legendary counterpart and came through in relative comfort 4-1 at Alexandra Palace.
The game was level at one set apiece before Chisnall, renowned for his scoring power but faltering doubles, took hold of the contest, winning the next three to take victory.
"Dave was the better player," Taylor, 51, told Sky Sports.
"When he took that fourth set it was a massive blow for me, then I was struggling. It's all on the night and I wasn't good enough."
The Stoke man also revealed he will continue to play on for "two or three years" before retiring.
