Jonny Clayton wins Week 11 of the Premier League in Aberdeen to move into first place in the overall standings.
The Welshman has arguably been the most consistent of the eight participants, winning two events and reaching at least the semi-finals of the last four tournaments to move to the brink of overtaking Michael van Gerwen ahead of Thursday's play.
However, Clayton ended the night ahead of the Dutchman, following a routine win over Gary Anderson with 6-5 wins over Peter Wright and Van Gerwen.
In the final, Clayton averaged a superb 103.4, hitting four maximums along the way to establish a one-point lead over his main rival.
Van Gerwen is five points clear of Wright and James Wade, who occupy third and fourth position respectively, with Wade making up the last four on Thursday.
During the quarter-finals, Wright won a last-leg decider against Joe Cullen, while Gerwyn Price went down by a 6-3 scoreline to Van Gerwen. body check tags ::
