Brendan Dolan threw the World Grand Prix's first ever nine-darter on his way to booking a place in the final against Phil Taylor.
The Northern Irishman defeated James Wade 5-2 in his debut appearance in a major semi-final.
"I can't believe it myself," he told Sky Sports News. "The form I've had this year, I never expected (to reach) a final in a major competition.
"The money doesn't matter, it's about getting to a final and making a name for myself."
Meanwhile, nine-time winner Taylor suffered an early setback against Richie Burnett before he came back to win 5-2.
