Terry Jenkins and Kyle Anderson produce nine-dart finishes at the PDC World Championship, before losing to Per Laursen and Ian White respectively.

Two nine-dart finishes were hit at the PDC World Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Seventeenth seed Terry Jenkins and Australian number one Kyle Anderson both produced perfect legs before losing their respective first-round matches at Alexandra Palace.

Jenkins's nine-darter came in the second leg of the deciding set against Danish qualifier Per Laursen, who managed to upset the odds by winning 3-2 with a 55.56% success rate on doubles.

The Herefordshire thrower's disappointment at being beaten at the first hurdle will have been softened by the knowledge that the prize for producing a nine-darter at the tournament is £30,000.

However, Jenkins's stake in that jackpot was swiftly halved as his accomplishment was matched by Anderson during his 3-1 defeat to Stoke's Ian White.

Jenkins was not the only seed to exit the World Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Kevin McDine overcame 31st seed Wayne Jones 3-2, after 29th seed Mark Walsh had lost 3-1 to Finland's Jarkko Komula.

Laursen's reward for getting past Jenkins is a shot at Peter Wright in round two. White will face either Kim Huybrechts or the Belgian's elder brother Ronny.

McDine is likely to play Michael van Gerwen next, while Komula will meet the winner of Tuesday's match between Simon Whitlock and Ross Smith.
