Jonny Clayton has won the 2021 World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam, beating Dimitri van den Bergh in the final.

The Welshman has already enjoyed a career-best year, winning The Masters, Premier League and World Grand Prix ahead of a busy end to 2021.

Clayton can now add another televised tournament to his collection after coming from behind to defeat Van den Bergh 11-6 on Sunday night.

The 47-year-old was 3-2 and 4-3 down during the early stages but the world number eight dominated the second half of the contest, ending it with eight 180s and an average of 101.63.

On what will go down as one of the best days of his career, Clayton earlier fought back from 7-2 down to defeat world champion Gerywn Price in a last-leg decider before getting the better of Michael van Gerwen in the semi-finals.

Clayton will now be among the bookmakers' favourites to win the Grand Slam of Darts, which gets underway in Wolverhampton on November 13.
