Two-time winner Adrian Lewis believes that he is more "dangerous" at the World Championship than any other tournament on the PDC Tour.

World number three Adrian Lewis has revealed that former mentor Phil Taylor is the reason why he considers himself to be a bigger threat at the PDC World Championship than any other tournament.

Lewis, a two-time winner of the event that is staged at Alexandra Palace, used to practise with the 16-time world champion, and ahead of his first-round clash with Dave Pallett, the Stoke-on-Trent thrower admits that he is hoping to peak during the 72-man competition.

The 29-year-old told BBC Sport: "Instead of doing three hours of practice per day, I up it to five hours per day. I make sure that I'm at my pinnacle for the World Championship.

"It's something Phil Taylor drilled into me when I was young and I first started coming through. He said that he didn't care if he didn't win another major all year, as long as he won that one. I think that's why I'm more dangerous at the World Championship."
