The Professional Darts Corporation has revealed that it is referring Phil Taylor's recent spat with Raymond van Barneveld for possible disciplinary action.
The pair were involved in an altercation at the end of Taylor's victory in Sunday's World Championship semi-final.
Taylor went on to beat Michael van Gerwen on New Year's Day to claim his 16th world title.
The Darts Regulation Authority will now examine the incident to determine whether any action should be taken.
A financial penalty is the likely outcome if the players are found guilty of any wrongdoing.
