Michael van Gerwen has recorded a 6-5 victory over Luke Humphries to win Week Three of the Premier League in Glasgow.
On Week Two, the Dutchman came through two last-leg deciders to prevail in Berlin and the same occurred on Thursday evening against the reigning world champion.
That is despite Humphries averaging almost eight points more throughout the contest, as well as holding a 4-2 advantage at one stage.
Van Gerwen responded with three successive legs before Humphries took the 10th, but the 2023 winner dominated the final leg to strengthen his position at the top of the table.
A three-point lead has been established over Michael Smith, who lost to Rob Cross in the night's opening contest before Van Gerwen beat the Englishman 6-4 in the semi-finals.
Gerwyn Price and Luke Littler are both on five points, a consequence of Price coming through a thrilling encounter with the World Championship runner-up by a 6-5 scoreline.
In a match that featured 10 maximums, Littler hit five perfect darts in the final leg, only to fail to get a dart at double as Price held in 13 darts.
Humphries has also moved to five points on the back of defeating Nathan Aspinall and Price by 6-3 scorelines to reach the final.
Aspinall and Peter Wright - who lost 6-2 to Van Gerwen in the quarters - both remain on zero points and cut adrift from sixth spot by four points. body check tags ::
