Luke Littler has added the Grand Slam of Darts title to his growing collection of silverware with a 16-3 victory over Martin Lukeman.
A succession of first-round exits in major tournaments since lifting the Premier League earlier this year refocused the 17-year-old ahead of one of the standout competitions on the calendar.
When losing the opening two legs of the final against the tournament surprise package, Littler would have envisaged having to battle his way to the crown in Wolverhampton.
Instead, he produced one of the greatest performances in a major in history, averaging 107.08 and hitting 12 180s across just 19 legs.
Littler incredibly won 15 legs in a row, restricting Lukeman to the odd shot at a double in several legs as his power scoring dominated an opponent who was still performing admirably in his first-ever major final.
Lukeman stopped the rot with his back to the wall, hitting double four for a 65 checkout that brought a rueful grin to the face of Littler when he was attempting to close out the win.
Nevertheless, a 177 in the next leg set the teenager to take out 24 for victory, sealing the title on double six to cap arguably the finest day of his young darting career.
PDC Order of Merit update
Littler now moves into fifth place in the PDC Order of Merit, improving by 13 places with the Players Championship Finals and World Championship just around the corner.
Most notably, Littler has provisionally moved himself into the same half of the draw as world number one and defending world champion Luke Humphries ahead of the latter tournament.
Meanwhile, Lukeman - whose previous best showing at a major were quarter-final appearances at the 2022 World Grand Prix and 2024 UK Open - progresses into 37th place in the world rankings.
