Gary Anderson has progressed through to the third round of the World Championship with a 4-1 victory over Daryl Gurney.
The defending champion dropped the opening set as Gurney threatened a major surprise, but Anderson nicked the next two sets in a deciding leg to edge ahead of the Northern Irishman, who missed four darts for a 2-1 advantage.
Anderson extended his lead in the fourth to move closer to victory, and although Gurney continued to fight to remain in the tournament, he eventually succumbed in a last-leg decider for the third time in the match.
Dave Chisnall is also through to the last 16 after he averaged almost 103 on his way to a 4-1 triumph over Christian Kist.
The St Helens thrower stormed into a 3-0 lead before Kist reduced the deficit, but it proved only temporary as Chisnall confidently saw out the win.
Jamie Caven earned a spot in the third round of the World Championship for the first time in his career with a 4-0 victory over Ricky Evans, who won just one leg during a quick-fire contest.
