Phil Taylor has secured his first tournament win of 2015 with victory in the sixth UK Open qualifier in Wigan.
The 16-time world champion has endured a mixed start to the year, but a consistent display on Sunday ended with the 54-year-old recording a 6-2 triumph over Ian White.
After defeating Tony Richardson and Dean Stewart without dropping a leg, Taylor overcame James Wilson and Dave Chisnall to earn a place in the quarter-finals.
The world number two then eased past Alan Norris before getting the better of Adrian Lewis by a 6-4 scoreline in the semi-finals.
That set up a match with fellow Stoke-on-Trent thrower White, who had survived match darts against Raymond van Barneveld in the last four, but after the opening four legs were shared, Taylor powered to a convincing success.
