James Wade has recorded a 4-1 victory over Jamie Caven to reach the quarter-finals of the World Championship.
The seven-time Major winner was below his best for much of the contest but he had more than enough to make it through to the next round.
Wade is joined in the last eight by Michael Smith, who hit 12 maximums on his way to a dominant 4-0 win against Benito van de Pas.
The world number eight struggled with his doubles, but his heavy scoring helped him end the match with an average of 101.56.
Earlier in the day, Jelle Klaasen became the last player to book his place in the last 16 with a 4-2 triumph over Mervyn King.
An enthralling contest was dominated by missed doubles, but Klaasen eventually battled through, with a 170 finish the highlight of a tense match.
