England silver medallists Tonia Couch, Sarah Barrow: 'Judges not on our side'

England's silver medal-winning divers Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow question the judging during this afternoon's women's synchronised 10m platform final.

England's silver medal-winning duo Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow have claimed that the judges were not on their side and favoured Canada during the synchronised 10m platform final this afternoon at the Commonwealth Games.

Couch and Barrow were leading after four rounds but then slipped behind Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion in the fifth and final round to agonisingly miss out on gold.

Benfeito and Filion went into the final round four points behind and in third place but scored a 76.80, the highest score of the afternoon, on their final dive to soar into first place.

Couch and Barrow managed 70.08, which was only good enough for the silver, and the duo were a little disappointed not to win, suggesting that the judges favoured the Canadians.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Couch said: "I think the judges were a little bit low on our last dive."

Barrow added: "They didn't seem to be on our side, but Canada's always up there so I guess they sometimes favour [them]."

Malaysia's Pandela Rinong Pamg and her 15-year-old partner Nur Dhabitah Sabri beat the other Malaysia team to the bronze medal.
