World and Commonwealth diving champion Tom Daley has revealed that he is taking a break from the sport for the remainder of the year.
The 23-year-old will sit out of the European Championships in Glasgow and the remainder of the FINA Diving World Series season to spend time with husband Dustin Lance Black.
The couple are expecting a baby later this year via a surrogate, and Daley is keen to prioritise his family for the rest of 2018.
"I'll be using the rest of the year to spend time with my husband and new baby and work on projects close to my heart," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
Daley will return to training in the autumn but will not feature at a major diving competition until 2019.
