Amazon to film behind-the-scenes Bayern Munich documentary

Bayern Munich follow Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in agreeing to a behind-the-scenes documentary series for Amazon Prime Video.

Bayern Munich have agreed to let cameras film behind the scenes at the club for a new Amazon Prime Video series.

Filming for the new documentary, which follows on from Amazon's acclaimed all-access series with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, began in Portugal last August as the German side lifted the Champions League and will continue through to the conclusion of the 2020-21 season.

"We are proud to be able to tell the great success of FC Bayern through this documentary – from its rich past to the exciting present and ambitious future," said Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

"Especially now, when corona is unfortunately forcing us to distance ourselves, this documentary is a wonderful opportunity for our fans to experience first-hand what is going on in our team and our club."

Bayern have won the last eight Bundesliga titles in a row and are currently leading by seven points in the league this season.

The documentary is due for release on Prime Video this autumn.
