Mo Gilligan is reportedly in the frame to host the revived version of Big Brother on ITV2.
Although not yet officially confirmed, the seminal reality show is expected to return to UK screens after a five-year absence next year on youth-skewing channel ITV2.
ITV is said to be keen for the show to return to its 'social experiment' roots, with an emphasis on characters rather than twists, although other details about the reboot - including the identity of the host - remain scant.
Davina McCall hosted the original version on Channel 4, and more recently Emma Willis was the main presenter for Channel 5, but The Sun says that ITV is keen to have Gilligan take over when it returns.
"He has the one thing that any Big Brother needs - pure on-screen energy," a source told the newspaper.
"Although Rylan [Clark, BOTS host] and Davina have that in bucketloads, producers are keen to make a fresh start with the show.
"So they want a host who is not associated with the reality show's previous incarnations.
"They also want a cool figure who is going to hook in the younger viewers the reboot is likely to appeal to."
Clark recently revealed that he has not yet been contacted about the show's revival, nor is it clear whether ITV will commission any spinoff shows to run alongside the main series. body check tags ::
