Coming soon on Coronation Street, the new year brings old faces back to the street for Sarah as her daughter Bethany and ex-lover Damon both return to Weatherfield.

Elsewhere, the Rovers finally opens its doors again, Adam finds himself in a dangerous situation and Cassie continues to lie about the damaged car.

Jenny and Daisy watch on proudly as the locals muck in to get the Rovers ready for a New Year's celebration. Gary hangs Betty's picture back on the wall in pride of place.

When the clock counts down to midnight, everyone gathers outside the Rovers for a rendition of 'Auld Lang Syne'.

Daniel heads home and his face lights up when he spots Bethany arriving. Meanwhile, after some encouragement from Jenny, Daisy decides to visit Daniel's flat to patch things up with him...

Also: Yasmeen discourages Stu from telling Eliza the truth about her dad, while Adam and Sarah end up on an unexpected date.

Sarah reassures Adam that they will tackle his anxiety issues but as they part company, neither notices Damon watching from across the street. When Adam heads back to his office, he's jumped and bundled into the back of a van.

Michael refuses to entertain Dee-Dee's suggestion that their dad should move back home.

Sarah's thrilled when Bethany shows up at the flat and arranges a family reunion meal at Speed Daal. But on their way, Daisy clocks them and reveals to Gail, David and Sarah that Bethany slept with Daniel last night.

Also: Billy and Paul sense that Summer is up to something, while Shona persuades Lauren to return to work at Roy's.

Adam clocks Damon entering the Bistro and calls the police. Nick and Leanne are surprised to see Damon, who asks them for the money back that Harvey invested in the place. Craig then arrives - he has some questions for Damon about Adam's kidnap...

Daisy's put out when Bethany calls at the Rovers and remarks how empty it is.

Damon offers Ed a job renovating a bar but hurries out when he gets a phone call. Later, at the prison visiting room, Damon sits opposite his brother Harvey...

Gemma and David entertain Paul in the Rovers with jugs of sangria and later, David helps a drunk Paul back to the flat. As Paul waits for a late Moses, he gets desperate to use the toilet and tries to get himself there but ends up crashing to the floor.

Also: Cassie faces a dilemma over whether to come clean to Kevin and Abi over the car damage, while Evelyn learns that Terry has pleaded guilty.
