Netflix orders a second season of obstacle course gameshow Floor Is Lava.

Netflix has given the go-ahead to a second season of quirky gameshow Floor Is Lava.

The show sees groups of contestant aim to get through from one side of an obstacle course to the other without falling into the "lava" on the floor below.

The first season was released on the streaming service last June and reached an impressive 37 million households within its first month.

Casting for the second run, which will see Rutledge Wood return as host, has already been underway for several weeks under the code name Get Across The Room.

The new episodes are due to be filmed in Los Angeles throughout August and early September, suggesting that the new season could be released on Netflix towards the end of the year or in early 2022.
