Egyptian showjumper Abdel Said has claimed first prize in the speed class at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham.
Said collected the first-prize cheque of £6,600 by guiding Naiky d'Elca to a clear winning round in a time of 50.17 seconds.
The 23-year-old told The Telegraph that his pacy horse needed to be managed carefully in order to ensure success.
He said: "I knew I had a very fast horse so I knew I didn't have to overdo it. It was a case of making the tight turns."
Britain's Robert Whittaker missed out on a place in the top three by less by then half a second to Holland's Albert Zoer.
