Aberdeen have confirmed that they have granted Fraser Fyvie permission to hold transfer discussions with Wigan Athletic.
The Latics have been credited with an interest in the 19-year-old for a number of months.
Having learnt of the speculation, Aberdeen have opted to reveal that their midfielder is likely to vacate the club in the near future.
"Aberdeen FC can this morning confirm Fraser Fyvie is currently south of the border holding discussions with Wigan Athletic," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The 19-year-old midfielder became the youngest ever player to start for the Dons when he made his debut against Hamilton Accies in 2008."
Fyvie has made over 50 league appearances for the Dons.
