AC Milan have confirmed that Alexandre Pato will be sidelined for four weeks with a muscle strain.

The Brazilian picked up the injury during Milan's 2-1 extra-time win over Novarra in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday.

"AC Milan can announce today that Pato has been subjected to tests and after specialist medical advice, he was diagnosed with an injury the biceps femoris of the left thigh. The prognosis is [he will be out for] three to four weeks, unless there are complications," the club said on their official website.

Pato recently committed his future to Milan following speculation linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
