AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has insisted that leaving the Italian club this summer 'never entered his head'.
The 35-year-old had been expected to join the number of veteran stars that departed the San Siro at the end of the season, but he has reaffirmed his commitment to the cause.
"Leaving the club never entered my head. In fact it was my heart that ruled my head, even though I knew it would be somewhat of a different season ahead," he told Forza Milan.
"I knew we would have difficulties but what makes life so wonderful is dealing with problems. The structure within the club promotes a sense of belonging.
"I cannot say what it is like at other clubs, but all I know is that everyone who has played here has said that there is a family atmosphere. All I can say is that as a club Milan are very well organised in every area."
The Italian's current contract will expire next summer.
