Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has revealed that AC Milan had the chance to sign defender Giorgio Chiellini when he was still at his club.
Chiellini started his career at Livorno and played for the Italian outfit until 2004 when he joined Fiorentina.
"I dined with Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, vice-president Adriano Galliani and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Saturday," Spinelli told Radio RAI.
"Talking to Galliani, we remembered when he didn't want to spend €4m for my Chiellini who was with us at the time. We had a little laugh."
Chiellini joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2005.
