A report claims that AC Milan have made a bid for Valencia midfielder Ever Banega.

Serie A strugglers AC Milan have reportedly made a bid for Valencia midfielder Ever Banega.

It was claimed on Monday that a number of Italian clubs were interested in signing the Argentine, with Milan one of five teams in the running.

However, according to Tuttosport, Milan have now jumped to the head of the queue and are confident of securing the midfielder's services before the winter window closes at the end of January.

Banega is regarded as one of the most talented individuals in La Liga, but has struggled with a series of injuries and off-the-field concerns during his time at the Mestalla.

It is believed that Valencia are holding out for £8m.
