Ajax have kicked off the defence of their Eredivisie title with a comprehensive 4-1 victory against Vitesse at the Amsterdam ArenA.
The hosts took the lead five minutes before the interval courtesy of Nick Viergever, who found the target from close range.
Lasse Schone added a second for Ajax on 48 minutes with a brilliant effort from a free kick, before Van der Hoorn headed home a third goal for De Godenzonen.
Vitesse pulled one back with six minutes of time remaining through Marko Vejinovic's effort, but Ajax soon regained their three-goal advantage with Schone adding his second of the afternoon soon after.
