Angers new signing Romain Saiss has suggested that the club's team ethic may be the key to retaining their Ligue 1 status.
Saiss joined Les Scoistes from Le Havre during the summer and has admitted that he was impressed by the club's drive and ambition to reach the French top flight.
However, the 25-year-old warned that Angers will need to remain united, if they are to avoid relegation at the end of the season.
He told Get French Football News: "We are going to ride our luck, defend the values of this club in a collective way, doing things together.
"We are the only club alongside Gazelec Ajaccio that does not have a star in their team. The star is the team, these are important things with which we are going to try to use to stay up this season."
Angers host Nantes at the Stade Jean Bouin on Saturday.
