Scottish League Two remains the tightest division in British football after Saturday's set of results.
Annan Athletic had to wait to be confirmed as league leaders after their coach broke down en route to Berwick and the match was delayed by 30 minutes. An early goal from Rabin Omar and Smart Osadolor's strike from more than 40 yards secured top spot for the Galabankies.
Five teams remain just one point behind Annan in the league table, and victories for Montrose and Queen's Park meant they rose into the playoff positions.
Goals from Graham Webster and Gary Fraser gave Montrose a 2-0 half-time lead and a late consolation from Max Wright was not enough for East Stirlingshire.
Elgin City travelled to Hampden Park as league leaders, but a 3-1 victory for Queen's saw the teams level with each other by the end of the day. Goals from David Galt, Jamie McKernon and a Mark Hurst own goal led the Glasgow club to victory as both teams finished the match with 10 men.
Elsewhere, an early goal from Kevin Smith was the difference as East Fife defeated Clyde and two goals from quick succession lifted Arbroath off the foot of the table with victory over Stirling Albion.
Results in full: Arbroath 2-0 Stirling Albion (0-0), Berwick 0-2 Annan Athletic (0-1), East Fife 1-0 Clyde (1-0), Montrose 2-1 East Stirlingshire (2-0), Queen's Park 3-1 Elgin City (1-0)
