Argentina manager Gerardo Martino has explained why Carlos Tevez was so far back in the list of penalty takers, saying that he doubted the striker would cope with the pressure after missing a spot kick in the previous tournament.
Tevez scored the winning penalty in their shootout with Colombia, which sees Martino's side advance through to the last eight of the competition.
"Football is like that sometimes. I didn't put Tevez in among the first five penalties because he had missed in the previous Copa America," Martino told reporters.
"We tried to prevent him having to go up and take one but eventually it came around to him. That's football, and tomorrow's headlines will all be about redemption."
Argentina will go on to face the winner of the quarter-final match between Brazil and Paraguay, which will be played on Monday evening.
