The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Arsenal eye possible reinforcements.
The Gunners spent more than many expected last summer - most notably their club-record purchase of Nicolas Pepe - but were more reserved in January as they focused on bolstering their defensive options.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Emirates Stadium.
Monday morning's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup:
Arsenal 'to rival Chelsea for £25m Said Benrahma'
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to battle Chelsea for the signature of Brentford's Said Benrahma.
The 25-year-old was in impressive form for his Championship club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 17 times and contributing 10 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.
The Algeria international is expected to be on the move during this summer's transfer window, and Chelsea, alongside a number of Premier League clubs, have been credited with an interest.
However, according to 90min, Arsenal are also firmly in the hunt for a player who has netted 28 goals and provided 27 assists in 91 outings for Brentford since arriving from Nice in 2018.
The report claims that the Gunners are prepared to meet the £25m asking price for the attacker as Mikel Arteta looks to boost his options in the final third for the 2020-21 campaign.
Benrahma largely operates as a left winger but also featured on the right for the Bees last term.
Arsenal perform U-turn over Ainsley Maitland-Niles future?
Arsenal are reportedly considering whether to retain the services of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Despite the academy graduate becoming an important part of Mikel Arteta's squad, speculation persists that the versatile 23-year-old could be sold to help balance the books.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been tipped as the Englishman's most likely destination, providing that they bid in excess of £20m.
However, The Mirror claims that the player's man-of-the-match showing in the Community Shield could be enough for club officials to have a change of heart.
With Arteta having regularly spoken highly of Maitland-Niles, it now appears likely that he will be kept at the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday evening, Maitland-Niles said that 'his heart was with the Gunners'.
