Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is hopeful that beating Everton today can provide the Gunners with the mental boost necessary to qualify for the Champions League.
The North Londoners have been forced to focus their efforts on securing a top-four berth after falling out of contention in the title race in recent weeks.
Defeat at Goodison Park this afternoon would leave the Toffees - who have a game in hand - just one point adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal, and Arteta admits that there is no margin for error.
"The game at Goodison is going to be really important," Arteta told The Mirror.
"Not only for the result, because there will still be another five games to go, six for them, but in mental terms. It will be a big boost if you win and hard to take if you don't."
Today's clash on Merseyside is scheduled to kick off at 1.30pm.
