Marseille coach Elie Baup believes that his side were worthy of at least a point against Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Gunners got their European campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-1 win over Les Phoceens at the Stade Velodrome in Group F.
"There is disappointment, frustration, as we deserved at least to share the spoils," Baup told reporters. "It would have been fair. We lacked the experience whereas teams like Arsenal have plenty.
"They know how to keep it tight when necessary, and that was the case for them at moments tonight. Then they know how to regroup and hit you and punish your smallest mistakes. They used all the opportunities they had to be efficient.
"We have to learn from that. Apart from that we produced a good game, though efficiency was on Arsenal's side."
Marseille travel to Bastia in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
