AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes admitted that the Italian side "must do better" following their scare against Arsenal in the Champions League.
Milan came close to surrendering their 4-0 first-leg advantage on Tuesday, as they lost 3-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates.
The Italian's scraped through to the quarter-finals, however, with Mexes issuing a word of caution.
"The first half went badly. We were punished for every mistake. In the second half we managed to get the ball moving and we had less fear," the 29-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
"This must not happen again and, after a game like that, you cannot celebrate. We want to progress in this competition but we must do better, even if tonight we have gone through."
Milan face Lecce in Serie A on Sunday.
