Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has paid tribute to Arsenal teammate Danny Welbeck following his hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Galatasaray on matchday two of the Champions League.
The former Manchester United forward bagged two goals inside 30 minutes before completing his treble early in the second half, and Oxlade-Chamberlain, who set up Welbeck's third, says that the night belonged to the 23-year-old.
"It's nice to see Welbz do so well," he told the club's official website.
"When he came to this club, I knew that the way we play football combined with his pace and his intelligent runs meant we'd find him a lot.
"The boys did that tonight and I was really happy to assist him for his last goal. I think tonight was all about him. He did really well for us on and off the ball."
Alexis Sanchez fired home Arsenal's third of the night prior to the break, before goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny got sent off as Burak Yilmaz reduced the arrears from the penalty spot.
