Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that his side are in the Champions League group of death this season, setting a minimum target of 10 points for qualification.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared that his side are in the most difficult Champions League group this season, while setting a target of 10 points to secure qualification.

The Gunners are in Group F alongside Borussia Dortmund, Marseille and Napoli, with their opening game a trip to Southern France tomorrow night.

Wenger believes that picking up points away from home could prove vital in earning a top-two finish, with a good start against Marseille imperative.

He told the club's official website: "If you look at the group, I would say yes it is the hardest group because all the four teams have a chance to qualify.

"That means the every game is basically a very important one. On average you need 10 points to qualify so that gives you the task. Ten points in a group as a difficult as that could be a reasonable number to get through.

"You need points away from home and, like in every competition, the start is very important for the confidence of the team and to put you in a good position. Whether it is home or away, it is the same basically, we come here and we will try to win the game."

The Gunners arrive at the Velodrome on a fine run of form, after winning five successive matches in all competitions.
